For your information and action where necessary:
Thursday 9th February: Birmingham Christian Homelessness Forum next meeting at 10.30am in the Betel Church Centre, 122-138 Sherlock Street, Birmingham B5 6NB, when we will be having an update from Paul Atkin on Reachout Network on their recent developments. Contact Emma Neill as below.
Tuesday 14th February: From Birmingham Christian Homelessness Forum. There will be a lobby in Victoria Square outside the Council House in Birmingham regarding the Council’s proposed budget cuts to Supporting People, which currently is proposed at £10 million over the next two years. In light of the Homelessness Reduction Bill passing its 3rd Reading in the Commons last week and the extra duties that will be placed on the local authority, particularly around prevention, these proposed cuts make no sense let alone breaching the minimum of what is needed to support vulnerable people in the City.
It would be great if you were able to be there, or pass on this information to others to mobilise support, that would be fantastic. Any questions, please contact;
